I don’t know about you but this bothers me. Normally I could care less but for some mature reason I’m beginning to care more about my families health and how we treat this planet. If the information on this video is true then we should at least be honest and voice whether or not we have concern. If it isn’t true then what is? How is our “stuff” benefiting the world as a whole? Again, normally I could care less but that’s not what I want my life to look like. I thought about not posting this at first because we focus on art and ministry but then I thought why not this is good info. Take a look and decide for yourself. I just wanted to share this with you all.

The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns, with a special focus on the United States. All the stuff in our lives, beginning from the extraction of the resources to make it, through its production, sale, use and disposal, affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues and calls for all of us to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something. It’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

Written by Leonard, the film was produced by Free Range Studios the makers of other socially-minded, web-based films such as “The Meatrix” and “Grocery Store Wars.” Funding for the project came from The Sustainability Funders and Tides Foundation.

On Friday, July 28th the lobby area of the Jones Center was filled with art lovers and ASI supporters. Our premiere show was a success. There was a lot of networking, encouragement, and interests in the arts and how it can make a difference in lives of others. The following day appeared to be slow at first but towards the afternoon crowds of people were rolling in. Live music and festival brought in a crowd of nearly 900 people through the Jones Center. With the gross of nearly $3000 we raised around $750 for the ministry of ASI in Africa. Thanks to all of our supporters and all who attended. We will be showing and selling original and printed art again at the inaugural Pinnacle Hills Promenade Art Festival, which is scheduled to take place Saturday, September 8th through Sunday, September 9th 2007 in Rogers, Arkansas.
